Sugar Mountain is situated between Boone and Linville Ridge. There are two medical facilites, with helicopter emergency med flights. Sugar Mountain has emergency service for the winter skiers and several medical faciites right in Banner Elk. Close by in Johnson City is one of the best health care systems in this area.
